As I am going to blog about traveling, I am reading the book Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill; the segment of the book I am in is titled On the Road. Just to give a taste of this book...before I get started on my rant (well not even a rant)...I will describe a bit of it without being a spoiler. The book's main character is Judas Coyne; he's a former rock star obsessed with the occult. Accompanying him in the journey through the pages is his girlfriend, Georgia. The book opens with Judas purchasing a ghost on the internet; in order to obtain the ghost, a former personal possession is sent in a heart-shaped box in the mail. The box contains a suit which was supposed to dress the ghost's physical body at the funeral, but it did not fit. The name of the ghost is Craddock McDermott. Craddock was sent to Judas in order to torment him. Over the course of just a few days, Judas and Georgia are followed and tormented...this is where I leave it so as to not destroy the book.
Pardon my horrible skills in writing tonight, by the way. This weekend, I spent time in the ER for tearing my pectoral muscle off of my sternum. It was a nightmare. I am kind of out of it and think I caught some type of sickness being in the ER. Oh well, such is life.
For the fun PART...I am going to Machu Picchu officially now during Spring Break. It is a supplemental part of my Ecuadorian excursion...going to Peru is something I have wanted to do for a while. Today I was just reading that Machu Picchu is Yahoo.com's #1 travel destination for 2012 along with Iceland at #2. Funny. My two 2012 destinations are #1 and #2 on top destinations. My trip to Machu Picchu will begin in Cusco ---------> Sacred Valley---------> Machu Picchu ------> Cusco, then back to Guayaquil, Ecuador for the rest of my Spring Break.
Over the summer, I plan to go to Iceland to explore on my own. I am pretty excited. :)
Right now I have a kitty sitting in my lap. :)
