I received a mysterious phone call today saying my credentials were received by this man and he thought I sounded amazing. I found out he is one of the principal pianists for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and has conducted the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra. He is a composer and arranger, as well. Honestly...who cares if he has something for me...the fact that someone like this has my phone number...WOW. He actually said he wanted to point me in the direction of some principals he knew in order to get me turned in the right direction for a job. That is awfully nice. It is like having a guardian angel of education on my shoulders. He told me to keep in touch!
Plus, a position in Marquette School in Chicago opened for immediate hire. Elementary Music. I applied for it tonight and sent all of my stuff to the principal. I don't know if I would take it, though. The school is in a REALLY BAD neighborhood...Englewood. I would probably get killed or have my car stolen.
Today was a really windy day. WOW. The lake was outta control. Here are a couple of pictures and some video:
After work, I went out to a bar with my GM and one of my friends. It was nice to be able to see her outside of the store. She said outside of the management team I was the first person she has been out with. That makes me feel good to know people are so trusting of me! ;)
Well, sleep well. I know I will. A little beer in me.
